This island covered with the swaying palm trees and shining sands has some of the best crabs and crab lobster that the tourists can ever have in Madagascar. • The scenery offered by the island is very soothing and cool. The island itself is covered with a handful of resorts, cafes and hotels. The town near the beach called Ambodifotra has a very small and lazy population comprising of a little amount of bamboo huts, ducks playing in the road and geese swimming by the filled gutter potholes. There are also numerous trees that includes mangoes, cloves and cinnamons which adds beauty and provide the much needed shade for both the humans and animals.
• At night, the beach is pretty sultry and quiet but if you really need to catch some night action you can travel to the nearby towns. In Volihava beach which is only at a distance of 27 km from the Ile Santa Marie beach provides some of the best hotels and restaurants who serves foods and beverages with music and dance performance in the stage. Some hotels are open air, and the food and the plays such as boules are performed under the shade of a tree.
